Wei Jianxing (Chinese: 尉健行; Pinyin: Wèi Jiànxíng; January 1931-) is a former senior leader in the Communist Party of China, a standing committee member of politburo in CPC, the secretary of Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China, and the chairman of All-China Federation of Trade Unions.[1]
Wei Jianxing was born in Xinchang, Zhejiang Province, and joined CPC in March 1949. He graduated from department of mechanics at Dalian University of Technology, majoring in mechanical manufacturing, and is a senior engineer.
Wei joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in March 1943. From 1947 to 1949 he studied in the High School Affiliated to Guanghua University in Shanghai. He later enrolled in Dalian University of Technology and graduated in 1952, majoring in mechanics. From 1952 to 1953, he studied Russian language in Fushun. Wei was then sent to Soviet Unions to study industrial management till 1955.
In October 1992, Wei was elected a politburo member of 14th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, a secretary of central secretariat, and the secretary of Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.
